<p>Long Red Thread helps newly arriving Chinese immigrant families to get established within their new communities.  These services include:</p>

<li>Accessing emergengy healthcare and mental health services</li>
<li>Getting children enrolled in schools</li>
<li>Connecting you with other local and federal support services</li>

<p>At Long Red Thread, we will help you and your family find and integrate into the local Chinese culture so that you feel welcome and supported.  These services include:</p>

<li>Introducing you and your family into cultural groups and programs</li>
<li>Providing calendars of local cultural events and activities</li>
<li>Introducing children into friend groups and relavant activities</li>

<p>Providing guidance and support for families' path to English fluency and coaching for adaptation to the American educational system.  Services include:</p>

Long Red Thread

A non-profit called Long Red Thread that is dedicated to help Chinese immigrant families get established and thrive in their new communities.  The name "Long Red Thread" is a reference to a Chinese fable about an invisible red thread that connects us all and that we are fated to meet.  The organization provides relocation services, establishment services such as banking, shopping, and employment, educational services such as English reading and writing - particularly for children, and community development services.  The Executive Director is Cadence Black, herself a Chinese immigrant who started Long Red Thread to help make the integration process as personal and welcoming as possible for Chinese children and families.
